Regional Executive Committee
The most important public building in the region, the Regional Executive Committee (now the government of the Novosibirsk region is located there), was designed in the constructivist style. It has never changed its functionality: as it was the main administrative building of the region, it has remained so. The building was originally designed by architect Kryachkov, whose authorship includes the foundations and basement, and later Turgenev and Gordeev joined the project.
A house with a clock
The clock house was built for the employees of Kraisnabsbyt, officials who were involved in trade and supply. The building is included in the list of 800 world masterpieces of avant-garde architecture and stands out from the entire range of Novosibirsk avant-garde. To emphasize the plasticity of the facade, a tower was made in the corner of the house and topped with a clock. The clock was presented to the city by the Trud factory, and it is powered by a hundred-kilogram weight.
Polyclinic
It was the first large polyclinic in Novosibirsk, built with patient care. There are no corridors in the building, the offices are connected by waiting rooms, where there is a lot of air and light. Windows occupy almost the entire perimeter of the walls. The building remains one of the most striking examples of constructivist architecture, is included in the list of world masterpieces of avant-garde architecture and in the catalog "Modern Movement in Architecture: Selections from the DoCoMo register".
Novosibirsk City Hall
A historic building built in 1927 in the constructivist style. Today it is known as Novosibirsk City Hall and is an architectural monument of federal significance.
Apartment building
The profitable or Business house, which is now popularly called the "Arcade", is included in the list of 800 world masterpieces of avant-garde architecture. It used to be a Soviet business center with a hotel, a bank, a department store, a cafe, a trading floor and a restaurant. According to Sergei Filonov, curator of the funds of the S. N. Balandin Museum of the History of Architecture of Siberia, the Apartment Building in the city was the first building with a large stained glass window occupying a significant part of the facade. This window cascades to emphasize the architectural rhythm so that the building does not appear flat.
At home near Novosibirsk-Main railway station
The Zheleznodorozhny district as a whole was a village of railway workers, which was constantly expanding. The houses located on Lenin and Omskaya streets near the railway station are all the vanguard for railway workers. Here, the idea was to build a Soviet residential complex – a "commune house" with shared bathrooms on the floor and without the full-fledged kitchens we are used to. They wanted to build all the necessary social facilities nearby. And in case of war, the buildings were planned to be connected by underground passages-gas shelters. It didn't work out to implement all the ideas.
